YMCA puts on fun night of boots, bling and dancing

DSC_5152By Megan Grabowski | The YMCA hosted its annual Boots & Bling Fundraiser on Saturday  at the Tabby Place in downtown Beaufort. The fun filled event included a silent auction, live auction, a golf cart raffle, music by DJ Donna Patrick, beautiful fall themed décor, fabulous cocktails and lots and lots of dancing. Denise Fanning, Wellness Director for the YMCA, described the event as “southern…with a lot of class”.

Over 150 people came out to support the YMCA and bid on items in a huge silent auction including a family night out on the town, a 10 class pass for TRX Training, a front row parking spot at the YMCA, Vineyard Vines clothing, local artwork, and much more. More than 30 local business provided sponsorship for the event, which contributed to such a wonderful turnout.

“It’s the only center of its kind that is accessible to all; no one is turned away. We need this kind of supervision and active lifestyle to help keep our youth out of trouble. The YMCA really compliments other public spaces that support that same vision,” said Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling, who came out for the evening to support the local YMCA.

The event is the Beaufort YMCA’s primary fundraiser each year. 100% of funds raised go back into the local facility and to support the Y’s various programs including a preschool program, after school care, summer camps, and team sports.
