10 Jul Reader’s Digest chooses Beaufort as Most Charming Town in SC
The accolades just keep piling up for little ol’ Beaufort. Reader’s Digest just picked us as their choice for Most Charming Town in all of South Carolina.
Well, if that ain’t something.
Reader’s Digest tells it’s audience to “envision Beaufort as a mini-version of Charleston.”
“Set along the Atlantic Ocean, Beaufort has its own Waterfront Park and plenty of moss-draped oaks, Civil War-era homes, and plantations and that genteel Southern setting of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
RD made sure to tell folks our age by adding, “it’s the state’s second oldest city, founded in 1711,” and made sure everyone knew you could climb the lighthouse at Hunting Island.
Keep ’em coming.
Just a few weeks ago we were named the Most Patriotic town in South Carolina and earlier this spring Southern Living released the results of a new poll placing Beaufort as ‘One of the South’s Best Small Towns in 2018’ and another one naming Beaufort on the list of ‘The South’s Prettiest Towns’.
Earlier in 2018, Coastal Living Magazine named Hunting Island beach & State Park as one of ‘14 Secret Places in America to Visit Now‘. then we were called Most Charming Southern Vacation Destination by TripAdvisor and also named one of the 9 cutest towns in America.
Of course we’ve always known that Beaufort has just the right recipe for perfection and now it seems that everyone else knows as well. Us locals just love living in a spot where the rest of the country only visits while on vacation.
