Port Royal Vet expanding, building new hospital
Port Royal Veterinary Hospital is undergoing a major expansion and building a brand new facility right next door to its current location at 1502 Paris Avenue.
The popular local vet opened in its existing space back in 2009 and construction has already begun on the new building that will allow Dr. Marikay Campbell and staff to add new services and expand on ones already offered as well.
“Were beyond excited,” Dr. Campbell said. “We’ve outgrown our current hospital space and the addition will let us better serve our clients and the pets our community.”
Owned by Dr. Campbell, Shelia Ellis and Bob Ellis, Port Royal Veterinary Hospital already offers a wide array of services including wellness and diagnostic services, internal medicine, dental care, x-rays, grooming and emergency care.
Campbell said the new hospital, which will connect with the current space, will allow them to add a new x-ray system, more exam rooms, a surgery suite and a comfort room in addition to dog & cat boarding, and more room for the exotic pets and wildlife that often turn up at her practice.
“We’re very pleased to be able to do this without raising the cost of our services. Our clients will be happy to see the same cost while being able to take their loved ones to a more modern facility where we can give them the highest quality care possible.”
Campbell’s practice saw over 10,000 patient visits in 2017 and the demand for quality pet care in the Beaufort area is rising with the increase in population. Already recognized as one of the best in the area and constantly wowing folks with their care of exotic pets and wild animals, Port Royal Veterinary Hospital is putting all the right pieces in place to insure the highest quality care for our furry friends.
The new hospital will be completed in the spring of 2019.
