Part of downtown Beaufort without power this morning

Apparently there is an issue underneath the city of Beaufort that has led to a power loss to part of Bay Street Thursday morning.
Crews told us that there is a problem with a transformer, or some related cables that has caused the power outage from Panini’s on the Waterfront down Bay Street to Common Ground Coffeehouse.

No word as to when the power would be restored.

Paul Thompson, owner of Panini’s on the Waterfront, said “we’ll take it in stride as our kitchen operates on gas, but we won’t be serving pizzas this afternoon”.  The outage currently effects Panini’s, Hemingways, Finders Keepers, Regions Bank, Luther’s Rare & Well Done, Plums Restaurant, and Bay Street Jewelers.
