New clothing store opens in downtown
A new clothing store opens in downtown Beaufort. Carolina Me Crazy opened its doors this past week along Bay Street in downtown in the spot recently vacated after ten years by the Beaufort Clothing Company and has been turning heads with a mammoth-sized shark mascot hanging from the ceiling.
Owned by Tony Yahav and his brother Eddie, who also own Barefoot Bubba’s on Bay Street and the location on Harbor Island, the new store will carry mostly popular name brand items along with a variety of Lowcountry-inspired apparel that our visitors to town typically take home as souvenirs.
“Carolina Me Crazy will carry name brand items from popular lines including Simply Southern, Guy Harvey and Salt Life, in addition to hats, accessories and more,” Tony said.
Tony says that he and his brother are very excited about the new spot, and told us the big model of a shark hanging from the ceiling will help visitors “get that coastal vibe” when spending their time in town.
“We love serving the visitors to Beaufort and the islands in our stores, he added. “It’s fun to meet so many new people all the time and to hear their stories and see them excited to be here. We have big plans for our newest store.”
Back in November, we asked you on our Facebook page to help name the new store that was coming downtown. This was it. Tony had asked us [to ask you] for your ideas on a name for the new store, but one of your ideas, ultimately, was not chosen.
