Kennel Club offers free classes to those who adopt

Most people love their dogs. But how many take the time to make their dog a “Canine Good Citizen?” When you have a well-trained dog, you can be confident that he or she will behave well around new people, other dogs, and children. The Beaufort Kennel Club has been offering six-week obedience classes for many years. In fact, many of the local members of Therapy Dogs International are alumni of these classes.

Recognizing that behavior issues are the primary reason that dogs end up in shelters, the Beaufort Kennel Club is offering a specialBeaufort Kennel Club program to those who adopt dogs from the Beaufort County Animal Shelter between September 1st and October 15th of this year.

Adopt a dog from the Beaufort Country Animal Shelter and be one of the first ten to sign up for a FREE series of six obedience classes (a $90 value) this fall.

The classes will be held on six consecutive Saturdays starting on October 19 at 9:30am at the Beaufort Academy basketball court. Pre-registration and proof of vaccinations is a must. Offer is limited to the first ten adopters to register.  Please contact Marilyn Landon at landonsea2004@embarqmail.com or call 843-986-0834 for more details or to register.

Monthly Beaufort Kennel Club meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 102 Heronwyck Plantation Drive, Beaufort, SC. For more information, please call Leslie Kern, Club Secretary, at 843.509.1903. Guests who are dog enthusiasts are welcomed.
