Tuesday Talk – Dr. Eric Montie
October 3 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
USCB Lowcountry Dolphin Conservation – Brain, Behavior, and Acoustic Communication of Our Local Bottlenose Dolphins
Bottlenose dolphins have very large brains for their size. These animals process high frequency echolocation information which requires immense space in the cerebral hemispheres. They also have a high degree of social relationships, in which individual dolphins recognize and have long- and short-term relationships with other individuals. In this presentation, Dr. Montie will discuss the brain, behavior, and acoustic communication of these amazing animals, highlighting some of the acoustics work his Marine Sensory and Neurobiology Lab is currently doing.
Tickets are $8/person, $5/students. Call 843-645-7774 to reserve your seats!
