Beaufort History Museum Seeks Volunteer Docents

The Beaufort History Museum is recruiting the 2013 class of volunteer docents to lead tours and serve as community liaisons.

Docent training classes will be held in two separate sessions from from September 19th through October 17th.  Volunteers may choose to attend classes at either session, and makeup classes will be offered as well.  All sessions will be held at City Hall, 1911 Boundary Street, Beaufort.

The training curriculum will cover all aspects of history relating to Beaufort and will provide docents with knowledge of the museum’s collections, history and mission. Once volunteers have completed the training process, they will be asked to serve approximately four  shifts per month. Docents are asked to commit to a one year period of service to the museum.

For more information on the docent program, or other volunteer opportunities with the museum, contact Anna Schaffer at beauforthistorydocent@gmail.com.  The Beaufort History Museum is a 501(c)(e) non-‐profit organization.  Check the museum out on Facebook, or visit the museum’s website here.
