Giving Back: Beaufort Dog has tails wagging all over town!

Beaufort Dog recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and hosted a customer appreciation party where they announced a new Community Giveback Program.

Owners Kelley and Jason Blackston believe that it is a truly remarkable thing for a small, family run business to grow for ten years and want to thank everyone for their support.  In order to show appreciation for the loyal Beaufort community, Beaufort Dog will be giving free rescue adoption packages to any newly adopted dog in the next year.

The Rescue Adoption package includes:

  • 15 lbs of dog food and information on frequent buyer dog food deals
  • Food analysis and recommendations for the stage, breed, and condition of your dog.
  • Free training consultation with the owner and head trainer of Beaufort Dog
  • Free first bath and nails
  • Free month of daycare package good for two days a week for a month.

In addition, they will be celebrating all new pet owners with:

  • 5 lbs of dog food and information on frequent buyer dog food deals
  • Food analysis and recommendations for the stage, breed, and condition of your dog.
  • Free training consultation with the owner and head trainer of Beaufort Dog
  • Free first bath and nails
  • Free day of doggie daycare to socialize and make new friends.

Kelley, our local dog whisperer, is an expert in dog behavior and training.  Beaufort Dog started as a part-time hobby out of her home on Lady’s Island. She teamed up with her marketing consultant husband, Jason, to create an all-inclusive dog spa, daycare, boarding, and training business on Boundary Street in Downtown Beaufort.  Over the years, the business has expanded to create more play areas and a new boarding room.

Kelley feels the secret to their success is the atmosphere and people of Beaufort. “I believe that Beaufort is the best place to start a business because it is big enough to provide good word of mouth and small enough not to be run out by the large box stores.”

The Beaufort community has embraced this family-run business from the start.  It only took the pair a year to start winning the Beaufort Gazette and Island News Reader’s Choice Awards for Best Pet Boarding and Best Pet Grooming.  There is not a category for Pet Training, but we bet they would easily win that one, too!   For ten years in a row, the awards have kept coming, proving that a small business can thrive in Beaufort SC.
