You know we love our festivals here in Beaufort, especially one that combines our local food scene with lots of music and fun. One of the Lowcountry’s favorite foodie events, A Taste of Beaufort, returns this May 4th & 5th to downtown Beaufort’s Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. The two-day savory retreat features a total foodies’ delight with lots of Beaufort’s best dining spots serving up their best menu concoctions with incredible music, arts and crafts vendors, community fellowship and fun. Some of the menu items on tap from our local eateries will wow you with special recipes for local seafood that you’ll be sure to savor.
That’s a delicious Lowcountry affair.
The festival weekend officially begins at noon on Friday, May 4th with the opening of its Arts & Crafts Market, featuring up to 50 vendors offering a variety of handmade, local and unique goods. Area restaurants will begin serving up delicious seafood starting at 6 p.m., and live entertainment with popular local party band Deas Guyz from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Pavilion Stage. Festival admission is free all weekend; tickets for food and beverage will be available for purchase.
On Saturday the 5th, join Grounded Running and Beaufort’s large running community for the popular 5k Bridge Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. and the Kids’ Fun Run starts at 8:45 a.m. Live entertainment, children’s games and activities, the Arts & Crafts Market and food vendors begin at 11 a.m. and last through the afternoon. Saturday’s music lineup typically includes three different bands from 11am to 5pm at the Pavilion Stage.
Participating restaurants for the tasty weekend include Panini’s on the Waterfront, Sea Eagle Market, Plums Restaurant, Q on Bay, HIghway 21 Drive In, Gilligan’s, Carolina Tavern and many more, according to the Main Street Beaufort website.
