The Spanish Moss Trail
Get out and enjoy Beaufort and bike, run, walk, and even fish while wondering at a wide variety of animal, bird and plant species along the 7 mile long paved Spanish Moss Trail.
A few phases of the Trail are open for residents and visitors enjoyment between right here in the heart of Beaufort and in Port Royal. When all phases are complete, the Spanish Moss Trail will connect the towns of Port Royal, Beaufort, Burton, and Grays Hill to the Whale Branch Pier.
Family fun, great exercise and amazing views await you along the new Spanish Moss Trail.

The City of Beaufort is looking to residents, organizations and businesses to landscape parts of the Spanish Moss Trail through an adopt-a-section program. Among the groups that have already volunteered are Southern Palmetto Landscapes Inc., which will tend to the Westvine Drive Trailhead; the Beaufort Planning Group, which is taking on the trail’s intersection with Allison Road; and the Native Plant Society, for the Rogers Drive intersection.
