The Spaghetti Club: A unique spot that's big on taste

The Spaghetti Club

By Harlene Deane | What do you get when you mix two construction company owners with an idea, an empty space in Habersham and no background in the food and beverage industry?

Welcome to the Spaghetti Club!

Proof that if you hire a good chef, plan a menu to please everyone in the family and serve it with a great attitude, you’ll win every time. This is exactly what we experienced on a recent visit to the Club during the Habersham Harvest Festival.

We were able to snag a table outside so we could people watch and enjoy the weather. Within minutes we were greeted and served our beverages. The Villa Pozzi Pinto Grigio from Italy was the perfect choice while contemplating the menu.

Still unable to make up our minds, we started with the Artichoke Oreganato Hearts which were perfectly sauteed in garlic and butter and topped with fresh herbs and parmesan. Plenty for two to share.

My husband, ever the spaghetti and meatball guy, ordered…you guessed it! I opted for the special, mushroom ravioli with veggies. Each entree came with a salad of greens, pepperoncini, black olives, green onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, parmesan and your choice of dressing.

If the special of the day isn’t what you had in mind you can select from six different pastas and combine one with any of your favorite sauces on the menu. Each pasta creation comes with a salad for just $12.95. Definite value there.

Opting for the Aglio and Olio (garlic and olive oil) sauce, the mushroom ravioli came topped with asparagus, carrots, yellow squash, broccoli, french green beans, herbs and parmesan. The veggies were cooked perfectly, the pasta al dente.

The generous portion of spaghetti and meatballs (homemade with beef, pork and spices) with marinara sauce was a huge hit. The only downfall was the bread. Expecting bread brushed with oil and garlic, we got bread drenched in oil.

Finally coming up for air, my husband decided to order the pumpkin pie for dessert. Not being a pumpkin pie lover I was skeptical, but I was totally surprised at how delicious it was. Like no pumpkin pie I’ve ever eaten.

To sum it all up…the service was outstanding, the food good and well priced and you just cannot beat the atmosphere.

Oh, and tell them the Home Chef sent you!
