By Libby Ricardo | The Opening Night Reception for the 9th Annual Beaufort International Film Festival became the forum for a very exciting announcement. Beaufort, after fifteen long years, will once again serve as the backdrop for another feature film.
Ron Tucker, President of the Beaufort Film Society, was quick to relay it was the first of its kind this century.
Basement Bob, directed by Gary Weeks and VW Scheich (both BIFF alums), centers around titular character Bob. As one might gather from the title, Bob inhabits the basement of his ex-wife’s house. When she decides to sell the home, Bob, who is still in love with her, decides to do whatever it takes to save his home and his marriage.
The film will shoot in Beaufort in the Fall of 2015 with a cast still to be determined, but Gary Weeks will also be in the movie.
