Meet a Local: Meet Jeff Feus

By Hannah Eastham | A common catch phrase that has swept the nation for many years, “Welcome to Moe’s” invites a need for a large, satisfying burrito. Lucky for us here in Beaufort, we have the luxury to hit up our local Moe’s Southwest Grill whenever we get that sort of craving and for some of us, it’s often.

Sometimes it’s easy to look at chain restaurants and take them at face value – just a chain. However, in our little town of Beaufort,It's a family affair at Moe's of Beaufort. Jeff Feus pictured with his wife Chelsey and their daughter Lily. ESPB photo it’s our local businesses (both chain and exclusively local) that keep our little town great. Moe’s has a lot of Lowcountry charm both inside each burrito as well as outside its front doors into the arms and heart of our community.

When Jeff Feus and his wife Chelsey had the opportunity to purchase our Beaufort Moe’s back in July of 2012, they couldn’t resist the opportunity to return back to their “home” here in the Lowcountry. In fact, Jeff’s family was the first family to build a home on our neighboring Callawasee Island. After a childhood in Savannah and attending college at Georgia Southern for Hotel Management, Jeff and his family moved when he took a job upstate in Columbia as General Manager of a local Applebees Restaurant, and life was good.

However, when the prospect of living back in the Lowcountry struck, Jeff and Chelsey as well as their daughter Lily packed up and made the hike down to Beaufort and have been loving each moment ever since!

Jeff Feus purchased Moe's Southwest Grill of Beaufort back in 2012 and has operated it with a 'community first' attitudeThe Feus family doesn’t stop with making good burritos and lots of other fantastic-tasting fare for Beaufort’s hungry lunch and dinner crowds – they spend a lot of their time giving back in various ways to our community, too.

Tuesday evening is Moe’s “Community Involvement Spirit Night” which provides a 10% kickback to different schools, groups and worthwhile non-profit organizations here in the Lowcountry. Wednesdays give our local military heroes a great discount of 15%, while Thursday’s make dinner planning easy with .99 cent kids meals.

Beaufort loves its Moe’s so much that the restaurant sold an amazing 43,953 burritos in 2013. (I wonder how many pints of sour cream that equates to?)

The next time you find yourself craving a burrito, a quesadilla or some great queso dip, get up to Moe’s where you’re sure to be treated like a friend and don’t forget to say hello to the Feus family. You’ll be sure to be ‘welcomed’ when you come through the door. If you see the familiar Moe’s car at a local event, be sure to keep your eyes peeled and your taste buds burrito ready.

Upcoming Moe’s Events :
Tuesdays – Spirit Night
Wednesdays – 15% military discount
