After eight years on Port Republic Street inside the Beaufort Inn, Southern Graces Bistro is closing its restaurant permanently this month.

The closure of the popular local spot was announced this week by owner Bethany Boles Hewitt, who added that Southern Graces will continue its award-winning catering services throughout the Lowcountry and beyond. “We are so grateful to our co-workers, family, friends, farmers and fishermen who have made the experience of running this restaurant unforgettable,” said Bethany.

After more than eight years of running both the Bistro and their successful event service company, owners Chris & Bethany Hewitt will be focusing their full efforts on the event services that they have been providing for more than fourteen years, including catering, floral and design and event planning. While continuing to serve the Beaufort area, the plan is to expand their services into Georgia by opening a new, larger catering kitchen & design studio in Savannah.
“It was our great pleasure to share in the celebrations that took place over countless brunches, lunches, teas and dinners, not to mention birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions,” she said.
The restaurant is closed, but there’s still a chance to enjoy the bistro one more time. They’re serving their last meal and hosting a New Year’s Eve Dinner on Saturday, December 31st with reservations from 5pm.
We’re certainly going to miss having brunch in the beautiful Magnolia Dining Room that was home to some of Beaufort’s finest cuisine and always a wonderful dining experience.
