We’re getting closer to a new spot in town. The much anticipated new Wet Willie’s bar and restaurant in Beaufort Town Center on Boundary Street is planning for an opening at the end of this month, according to an article in the Beaufort Gazette.
In the article, owner Joseph Ford said the spot was originally planed for the fall of 2016, but design work and corporate details delayed the opening.
The bar & restaurant is taking over the spot formerly home to the Beaufort Arts Council and will boast a 2,000 square foot patio in the back with a marsh view as well as a spacious bar and plenty of seating in the restaurant.
“We’ll have more than just drinks,” Ford told ESPB back in December. “We’re excited about the restaurant side and enjoying seeing folks at both lunch and dinner. You’ll be able to enjoy sandwiches, burgers and local favorites including shrimp & grits too.”
Ford and general manager Patricia Alston, Ford’s mother, also plan to hire bartenders, assistants and servers as the opening draws near.
