Band hopping Beaufort this weekend

By Mary Ellen Thompson | Band hopping is a weekly event and this weekend gives us an extra thrill. Friday night is the opening of the Shrimp Festival with live entertainment by Deas-Guyz, and there will be shrimp, shrimp…and shrimp cooked every which way. Over at Lowcountry Produce the Cluster Shucks will be playing; Billy Drysdale will be at the Back Porch Grill leading his well loved karaoke, and the Sweet Grass Angels will be gracing the deck at The Foolish Frog.

It’s going to take a bit of navigating to fit this all in, as usual, but the best plan may be to start at the Shrimp Festival and have some Band Hopping in Beaufort: The Cluster Shucksshrimp snacks, then head on over to Lowcountry Produce for a slider or two.  Find your way to the Back Porch and sing a song or so, and then hit the Island running and end up, as always, at the Foolish Frog.

Saturday night is the last of the Port Royal Street Music with Carroll Brown’s Celtic Band at 6:00 so grab your chairs and coolers and don’t miss this. Afterwards wander on out to The Foolish Frog and let the Bull Grapes end your evening on a high note.

Enjoy your weekend!
